Weymouth, MA officer killed working traffic detail

(NECN: Katie Davis – Weymouth, MA) – There are renewed calls Tuesday morning to the change the Massachusetts driving laws. This after a Weymouth Police officer was hit and killed Monday morning. A 79-year old driver is facing charges. Officer Michael Davey was working a traffic detail when he was struck by a pickup truck. Authorities say the driver, 79-year-old Ronald Gale had gone thru a stop sign and hit another car before striking Davey. Gale faces a number of charges including negligent motor vehicle homicide.
