Woman attacked at Market Basket in Somerville, Mass.

(NECN: Tom Langford, Somerville, Mass.) – A Sunday morning trip to the supermarket turned terrifying for a Somerville, Massachusetts, woman. Police say the 45-year-old had just pulled in to the busy Market Basket when a man with a knife approached her. It is a crime that police call “brazen” and it occurred around 11:30 in the morning. The man with a knife knocked on the window of the woman’s care and asked for a ride. When she said “no,” he jumped in the passenger seat before she could lock the door. The man then tried to grab the woman’s purse and they struggled inside and out of the car. The man repeatedly kicked and punched the woman before he ran away with her purse. This Market Basket store is located at 400 Somerville Avenue in Somerville, Massachusetts.
