Three Afghan soldiers who went missing from a Cape Cod base were at a strip club the Friday night before they disappeared, authorities said.
The Afghanistan National Army officers, who had been participating in a training exercise, visited a "gentleman's club" called Zachary's Pub, according to the police chief in Mashpee, Massachusetts.
The three were reported missing Saturday after leaving the base to visit a shopping mall. The officers are now in custody of U.S. immigration officials after being detained on the Canadian border.
The officers face removal proceedings after being charged with administrative immigration violations, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
U.S. officials have said they did not believe the men posed any danger.
