Looking for a Job? Beware of Online Recruiting Scams

The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about online job recruiting scams as holiday hiring ramps up. These are schemes where fraudsters use a well-known company’s name and logo to solicit applications for fake jobs. It may come by e-mail or be posted on a recruiting website or social media platform. It’s a unique situation in which both the business and the applicant are affected by the scam, Paula Fleming says. The BBB says more than 3,000 online job recruiting scams were reported in 2018, including 1,000 in our area. Recently, Massachusetts-based Kronos, a workforce management company that was voted a best place to work, was victimized. Leslie Gaydos has more:
