A firefighter was injured battling a 2-alarm blaze in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood on Friday morning.

A firefighter was injured battling a 2-alarm fire in Boston's Charlestown neighborhood on Friday morning.

Officials said the fire at 24 Middlesex St. started around 7 a.m., and that flames were already showing as firefighters arrived.

One firefighter suffered minor burns and was transported to a local hospital. No one else was injured.

The building was a single-family home, according to fire officials, and two people were displaced by the fire.

Aerial footage of the scene from NBC Boston's Sky Ranger showed smoke coming from a charred roof and window on the top floor of the 2-1/2-story townhouse.

Damage to the building is estimated at $100,000.
