Groton police responded to a Lowell Road home around 5:30 p.m. Saturday and found a person dead on scene, the district attorney’s office said.

A suspect who is known to the victim was arrested and has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The DA says additional charges are likely.
Officials say this is not a random incident and there is no threat to the public.
Identifying information is being withheld at this time pending family notification.
