Report: Hampton Beach Among ‘Happiest Seaside Towns'

The 18th annual Sand Sculpting Event kicked off Thursday at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. The competition, which runs through Saturday, highlights the work of more than a dozen artists.

If you're from New England, you already know Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, is a popular destination for both residents and tourists.

Now the town has been named by Coastal Living as one of 10 "Happiest Seaside Towns in America."

The town, with a population of just over 17,000, has a 13-mile coastline and has numerous activities along the boardwalk including arcades, shopping, water sports, and golfing. It came in at number 8 on the list of 10.

The town also plays host to the annual Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Classic every June, which draw huge crowds.

Other "happy" seaside towns that made the Coastal Living list are Cape Charles, Virginia, and Ocean City, New Jersey.
