Local Doctor Hopes to Change Pancreatic Cancer Treatment

Dr. Brian Wolpin of Boston’s Dana Farber Cancer Institute wants to change the way pancreatic cancer is treated. With the help of Ed Quinn, a patient, he hopes to start a one-person clinical trial in the near future. This trial would involve studying the DNA of Quinn’s tumor in order to personalize treatment to the patient. Wolpin will also try to grow the tumor in a lab so that drugs can be tested on the culture.
