Major Delays After MBTA Commuter Train Hits Pedestrian

A 59-year-old man is dead after being hit by an MBTA Commuter Rail train on the Framingham-Worcester Line.

There are major delays after a train hit a pedestrian on the MBTA Commuter Rail's Framingham-Worcester Line Thursday evening.

Transit officials initially said there was police activity near Wellesley Square. Wellesley Police and the MBTA have since confirmed that a person was struck.

The victim, a 59-year-old man, was hit by an outbound train.

Passengers were advised to seek other modes of transportation during the delay.

Foul play is not suspected, according to transit police.
