The MBTA confirms one of its commuter rail trains hit and killed a person Monday night in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
Transit police say a male of unknown age was on the tracks near Norfolk Street when he was hit by a train headed for Providence, Rhode Island.
The victim has been pronounced dead.
Authorities say foul play is not suspected.
The Bristol County District Attorney's Office is investigating alongside transit police.
