One person has died after an early morning fire in Putnam.
The fire department was called to 11 Walnut St. around 5:20 a.m. They found heavy smoke coming from the second floor.
Once crews got the fire under control, they located a deceased male in the basement area of the home. The male is believed to be in his late 40's.
The crime division has been called in to investigate.
