Man Stabbed to Death at Hyde Park Barber Shop

One man is facing charges for allegedly stabbing a man to death at the La Familia Barber Shop in Hyde Park.

A man was stabbed to death Tuesday evening at a barber shop in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood, according to police.

The Boston Police Department says the man was stabbed in the upper torso following an argument that took place shortly before 5:45 p.m. at the La Familia Barber Shop.

The victim was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim's name has not been released.

"He's a nice guy, a very nice guy," said Herns Antoine, a pastor at the local church who knew the victim. "Always here, very quiet guy. Very friendly. Unfortuantely things happen and this is really sad. We're really sad what happened here. We never think something could happen here."

Police made an arrest late Tuesday night. No information on the suspect in custody was immediately available.

Chief William Gross said it doesn't appear to be a random incident and that the victim and suspect may have known each other. The motive is unclear at this time.

The murder investigation is ongoing.
