Local Police, Gov. Charlie Baker React to Weymouth Officer's Fatal Shooting

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and local police took to social media on Sunday to share their condolences following the shooting death of Weymouth Police Officer Michael Chesna.

Baker said he was "deeply saddened" to learn of Chesna's death and the death of an innocent bystander. He called it a "tragic loss."

The Boston office of the FBI said Chesna made "the ultimate sacrifice to protect his community."

Police departments around the region also offered up their thoughts and prayers, saying they will never forget his sacrifice.
