Report: Patriots' Patricia Heading for Detroit Lions

The snowstorm, much like most of their opponents, was unable to stop the New England Patriots on Thursday. The team did opt to practice indoors as they prepare for their next game. The Patriots have a bye this weekend in the first round of the playoffs.

Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia may be taking the leap to become head coach of the Detroit Lions, according to reports.

Rumors of Patricia's departure have persisted for sometime but NBC Sports says he's remained with the Pats awaiting the right opportunity. He's served six seasons under head coach Bill Belichick.

No formal signing can reportedly occur until the Patriots are eliminated from the playoffs.
