New England

Sunny Sunday, But Unsettled Week Ahead

Sunday: Decreasing clouds. Pleasant. Highs in the mid 60s. Sunday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the 40s to around 50. Columbus Day: Morning showers, then partial clearing. Highs in the 60s. Cape Cod Forecast: Sunday: Few clouds. Sun is back! Highs in the low 60s. Sunday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows around 50. Columbus Day: Early showers, partly cloudy afternoon. Highs in the 60s.

The sun is back this Sunday with temperatures rising into the mid-60s, great weather for outdoor activities.

Take advantage of this wonderful day because it will come to an end Monday, as an area of low pressure develops to our south and it brings showers overnight with an increase in clouds on Columbus Day. Monday starts out with showers followed by partial clearing, so the last day of the holiday weekend won’t be a washout.

Nice weather returns Tuesday with high pressure in control but that will be short-lived, as another system approaches New England from the west and merges with a coastal storm Wednesday afternoon bringing heavy rain and wind. These conditions will continue into Thursday morning.

This scenario could mean that many trees will end up without leaves by next weekend and with that said, minor flooding is possible in poorly drained areas.

Behind this disturbance, Friday will see highs in the 50s under lots of sunshine. For now, next weekend looks quiet and pleasant as highs soar into the mid-60s Sunday.
