Teen Airlifted After Falling From Truck in Tyngsborough

A 17-year-old was airlifted with life-threatening injuries after falling from a truck that was doing donuts, police said.

A teenager suffered life-threatening injuries after falling from the bed of a pickup truck Wednesday night in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts.

Police said two teens were doing donuts in the parking lot of Ayotte's Stateline Smokin' Joe's on the New Hampshire line when one of them, a 17-year-old boy from Lowell, was thrown from the back of the truck.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital, then airlifted to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

The driver, a 19-year-old male from Lowell, was cited for operating to endanger and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Additional charges may be filed.

Police also intended to have the Registry of Motor Vehicles suspend his license and declare the driver an "immediate threat."

Neither teen's name has been released.
