Threat of Rain Lingers Throughout Father's Day, Rest of Week

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, scattered showers. Breezy and muggy. Highs in the 70s. Sunday Night: Showers end, slow clearing. Lows in the 50s and 60s. Monday: A mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the 70s to around 80. Cape Cod: Sunday: Mostly cloudy, spotty shower. Breezy and muggy. Highs in the 70s. Sunday Night: A few showers, then clearing. Lows…

It’s looking like a wet Father’s Day unfortunately.

Most of central New England will see between half and three quarters of an inch of rain through this evening. Temperatures will climb into the mid-70s.

Monday we should see some beach weather. Showers will end during the predawn hours, clouds will follow soon after and the sunshine will return by late morning. High temperatures will reach the mid-70s once again.

Tuesday, showers will return and by 11 p.m. most areas could record an additional half inch of rain. Temperatures will remain steady in the mid-70s.

After Monday, beach weather will be limited this week. There could be a few breaks during the day between showers, but I don’t anticipate a ton of sunshine.

Warmer and more humid air will return by the end of the week. Weekend temperatures may very well climb to 80°. Showers are possible, but we should also see plenty of dry weather in the mix.

Early into the following week, the weather will remain unsettled. Temperatures will retreat into the mid-70s.
