One man is dead and another is severely injured after a hit-and-run in New Haven Friday night.
The accident took place on the Tomlinson Bridge on Forbes Avenue between East Street and Stiles Street at around 10:30 p.m.
A car struck a scooter with two male passengers, aged 18 and 15, and then fled the scene, according to police.
The 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police.
Police said they found a car's front bumper, the scooter and the two scooter riders lying on the road when they arrived to the scene.
The car who struck the scooter was followed by a witness who relayed information to police on the location of the driver, police said.
Police located the 55-year-old driver and detained her in the area of Parker Place and Townsend Avenue.

The scene of the accident was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
