Police in Portland, Maine are investigating after a woman said she was sexually assaulted while she slept in her apartment.
The assault occurred early Friday morning in the Deering Center neighborhood.
The woman was not seriously injured and told police that she might know the suspect. There was no forced entry and no weapons were threatened or displayed.
Police said no arrests have been made and no description of the suspect is available at this time.
There is not believed to be any threat to the general public, but police are reminding residents to be sure that their doors and windows are always locked.
