    Suspect in Police-Involved Shooting Has Died

    The Plymouth County District Attorney's office announced Sunday that 25-year-old Christopher Calabro died Friday evening hours after he was shot in Brockton.

    Authorities say a Massachusetts man who was shot by police after brandishing a knife at two officers has died.

    The Plymouth County District Attorney's office announced Sunday that 25-year-old Christopher Calabro died Friday evening hours after police shot him in Brockton.

    The prosecutor's office say officers shot Calabro near 209 Court Street after he brandished a knife at two Brockton police officers who were called to the area on a report of a man with a knife. 

    The Brockton Enterprise has reported that police were responding to what was described as a behavioral health issue earlier that day, and that one of the first officers on scene requested for an officer with a Taser to respond to the scene.

    Officials say police shot a knife-wielding suspect Friday afternoon in Brockton, Massachusetts.

    Calabro, of Brockton, was first taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and then transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where he was later pronounced dead.

    The Cape and Islands District Attorney's office will be conducting an independent review of the shooting at the request of the Plymouth County District Attorney's office.
