3 year old abandoned at bus stop in Los Angeles

(NECN/KABC: Los Angeles, CA) – Police in Los Angeles, California are looking for the parents of a three-year-old boy found abandoned at a local bus stop Friday (10/9). A Good Samaritan found the child at about 12:40 a-m local time at a bus stop on the corner of Florence Avenue and South Broadway, just east of the 1-10 Freeway. The witness told police that he saw the child sleeping on a bus bench next to an adult woman. He said when the bus arrived the woman got on, leaving the child behind. He said the child screamed to her but she waved him off. The witness told police he waited for more than an hour with the child before bringing him to the Los Angeles Police Department in South L-A. The boy was checked out at a local hospital but had no signs of trauma or abuse. Police say the boy was energetic and happy at the police station Friday (10/9) afternoon. The boy is Hispanic, weighs approximately 30 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes, and has a Mohawk-style haircut. The parents or guardians of the child could face charges of child abandonment or child endangerment.
