(NECN: Washington, D.C.) - Senator Scott Brown was joined by his wife, Gail Huff as Vice President Joe Biden re-enacted the swearing in ceremony. Brown was sworn in just after 5 p.m. by Biden on the Senate floor.
Shaking Brown's hand, the Vice President said, "I hope you enjoy it as much as I did."
Governor Deval Patrick certified the results of the January 19th special election Thursday morning.
Now that Brown has been seated, the Democrats lose their supermajority, and the Republicans gain a 41st vote they can use to block President Obama's agenda.
Brown has hired Steven Schrage as his chief of staff. Schrage will oversee offices in Washington and Massachusetts.
