Curt Schilling not ruling out possible run for Ted Kennedy's Senate seat

(NECN: Brad Puffer, Boston, Mass.) – Can a Republican fill Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat in Massachusetts? Among the list of possible GOP candidates is Curt Schilling. The former right-handed starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox is not ruling out a possible run. “I’ve got a lot on my plate,” says Schilling. “Right now, I’m not even going to speculate on it.” But, Schilling admits he would need to make a decision pretty quickly. “I think for the first time in a long time, it will take the right candidate,” Schilling said of a Republican beating a Democrat for the Senate seat. “I have been contacted,” says Schilling about a possible Senate run. Schilling, a registered independent and longtime Republican supporter, wrote on his blog that while his family and video game company, 38 Studios, are high priorities, “I do have some interest in the possibility.” Information from the Associated Press is included in this report.
