Frank hosts another health care forum

(NECN: John Moroney, Wellesley, Mass.) – An open forum was held on Saturday in Wellesley, Massachusetts by Congressman Barney Frank (D), and it turned out to be less contentious than his last such meeting. That prior meeting occurred in Dartmouth, Mass. During the meeting, Rep. Frank compared a citizen to a piece of furniture. Most of the questions during Saturday’s forum were centered on the national debate on health care reform. Rep. Frank found a friendly, supportive audience in Wellesley. “Done right, it will be the reality that will ease people’s fears of a government-run medical insurance system,” Rep. Frank said. The forum came a few days after the president’s address to a joint session of Congress. Congressman Frank said that the nation could have saved billions of dollars for health care had it not entered the Iraq War, and has now called for the withdrawal of troops from that country within six months.
