Gadhafi pitches tent at Trump estate

(NECN/ABC) – Most tents come with flaps, but the Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi had no idea what he was getting into when he brought his tent to the United States. He’s in New York for the opening of the U.N. General Assembly, but everywhere the Libyan tries to put down stakes, he finds American soil is hostile territory. He is the world’s third-longest-serving head of state, but Gadhafi is getting a cold reception, when it comes to finding a place to pitch his tent. The royal tent serves as his official domicile while traveling. His tent ultimately ended up on Bedford Land, the Donald Trump estate, seemingly without the knowledge of Trump himself. It may not stay up for long. The town lawyer has issued a stop work order, because the property has no permit as a temporary residence. ABC’s Diana Alvear reports.
