Martha Coakley holds campaign kick off rally in Boston

(NECN: Alison King, Boston, Mass.) – Tonight, Democratic candidate Martha Coakley held a campaign kick off rally. Coakley’s opponents are questioning a poll that has her leading the pack in the race to fill the vacancy left by Ted Kennedy’s death. Coakley’s opponents say she released the poll today to give her campaign a feeling of inevitability, even though they say the poll doesn’t reflect the current state of the race. That criticism however was not being heard inside Coakley’s campaign kickoff. Coakley drew hundreds of supporters to the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, where she pledged to be a different kind of candidate. NECN’s Alison King has more from the event.
