Obamas, Bo attend Malia's soccer match

(NECN: Washington, D.C.) – Like many parents do on autumn Saturdays, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama attended their daughter Malia’s soccer game, with dog Bo in tow. Malia is the eldest of the president’s two daughters. As he was leaving the game with Mrs. Obama and Bo, several children shouted “Bye, Mr. Obama,” and he turned to wave goodbye. Mr. Obama attended the game on the heels of the G-20 Summit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he and other leaders called upon Iran to open its previously secret nuclear facility to international inspectors. The president was scheduled to speak Saturday night at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s annual dinner. Material from The Associated Press used in this report. NECN.com has elected not to show footage of Malia or any other children playing soccer, as the president had previously requested for the media to focus on him if covering his attendance at such events.
