Passerby rescues boy from burning building

(NECN/ABC: New York, N.Y.) – A man was passing by a burning building in the Bronx when he heard a boy’s cries for help — and so he ran to help. He managed to pull the unconscious boy from the arms of a firefighter inside the building and administer CPR. Thanks to the man’s actions, the boy is expected to be okay. The man, identified as Horia Cretan, said that he was just doing what anyone would have done. On Thursday morning’s Good Morning America, Cretan got down on one knee to propose to a woman identified only as “Desiree.” She said yes. Material from The Associated Press used in this report.
