Private service celebrates life of Sen. Kennedy

(NECN: Boston, Mass.) – A private service was held to honor the life of Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy. The “Celebration of Life” event was held at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston. The service brought together political rivals to celebrate the life of the man who was best known for reaching across the aisle. Speakers included Vice President Joe Biden, Republican Sens. John McCain and Orrin Hatch, Democratic Senate colleagues John Kerry and Christopher Dodd, and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. Niece Caroline Kennedy is scheduled to speak last.
