Teen set ablaze in dispute with other teens

(NECN/ABC) – In Florida, a teenage boy is facing long hospitalization in a trauma unit. He suffered burns over much of his torso in an alleged revenge attack. Police say those who set him on fire were fellow teens. What started as a squabble over a video game devolved into an act of cruel retaliation when 15-year-old Michael Brewer was doused with rubbing alcohol and then set on fire outside an apartment complex in South Florida. He suffered second-degree burns to much of his body, and doctors say they expect him to have good days, and bad days. Recovery will take months, at best. Though his eyelashes and eyebrows were burned off, Michael has opened his eyes. Five boys, the youngest just 13, have been charged with aggravated battery in the attack. One was also charged with attempted second-degree murder. ABC’s Matt Gutman reports from Miami.
