A look back at the life of Greg Montalbano

(NECN: Kevin Shea, Worcester, Mass.) – It was his childhood dream to play for the Boston Red Sox. Years later, he nearly saw that dream become reality, playing in the minor leagues for the team. Today, family and friends are remembering Greg Montalbano, a young pitching prospect who lost his life to cancer. Montalbano lost his 13-year battle with cancer on Friday. Montalbano was a star player for St. John’s High School and Northeastern and went on to become the Boston Red Sox Minor League Player of the Year in 2001.
