Amherst’s Michael Hixon took silver in the 3M synch diving, while Dover, New Hampshire’s Jessica Parratto took silver with her partner in the women’s synch 10M platform, becoming the first U.S. women to medal in the Olympic event since it first debuted. Local rowers Gevvie Stone, of Newton, and Kristi Wagner, of Weston, finished placed fifth in the finals.
