The Boston Celtics season has been over for two weeks and Glen Davis is already working toward next year. On Thursday Davis posted the first installment of Summer Training videos on the AYO Baby Blog, presented on his official website, www.iambigbaby.com.
Davis tweeted for viewers to check out his post workout meal, which included chicken burgers, pasta and kale.
In his blog, Davis wrote:
What’s up guys! I thought I would dust off my flip cam and record some footage of this summer. I am very excited to start working out again, set some summer goals and really get ready for next season. It is all about a balanced lifestyle, putting time in at the gym and eating right. I have a great team around me and as you will see my main man, my trainer, is already trying to one up me in the first edition of AYO Baby Blogs! It’s all love, haha. Check it out. Stay tuned for more…
Davis will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and while it’s uncertain where he will be playing next season, he wants to be ready to contribute.
After establishing himself as a reliable sixth man on the Celtics, his productivity dropped during this postseason. He averaged just 4.0 points (31.8% FG) and 2.4 rebounds during the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Miami Heat.
Davis admitted during the series, “I’ve been nowhere to be found this whole playoffs. I need to find myself.”
Doc Rivers told WEEI's Dennis and Callahan Morning Show he thought “the whole contract thing affected [Davis’] play,” and felt trying to score became too much of a priority for him.
"We’ve got to get him back in the right frame of mind," Rivers said. "Baby’s a good basketball player. He can help us or any other team. But, to me, only if he plays the right way.”
Adding about Davis’ future with the Celtics, Rivers said, “Yeah, if we can get him for the right price. I think it would be nice, but we can’t overpay."
