(NECN: Alison King, Lowell, MA) – We continue to follow the Massachusetts Senate showdown. The race started in earnest Tuesday night.
The democrats held their first debate at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
There are six senators trying to unseat Senator Scott Brown, and it was a big night for them.
Even though Republican Senator Brown wasn’t on stage Tuesday night, he was still very much a part of the debate.
The first question of the debate got to the heart of the Massachusetts Senate race. Essentially, how come you think you can beat Senator Scott Brown, the popular republican incumbent?
All six democratic candidates made their case, but it was Harvard law professor Elizabeth Warren who was being watched most closely.
A new poll shows Warren with a 30-point lead over her opponents, less than three weeks after making her candidacy official. She was relaxed and confident in the spotlight, often using humor.
