(NECN/ABC) - It's an unbelievable story that has an entire community shocked. According
to a credible source, a 10-year-old St. Anthony girl has given birth to a
baby. Court documents confirm that a St. Anthony man is in jail for raping
the 10-year-old girl.
According to Idaho's Bureau of Vital Statistics, this is the first 10-year-
old to give birth in Idaho for at least 20 years.
St. Anthony is reeling.
As news spread that a local 10-year-old girl gave birth to a baby.
"Things like this happen. and to think this happens next to you, on your
block is just incredible,"
This is the man that has been charged with raping the girl.
Guadalupe Gutierrez-Juarez has been in the Fremont County Jail since April
29.
St. Anthony Police said they were notified of the young girl's pregnancy by
medical personnel after she went in for treatment at a doctor's office.
According to a credible source, the young girl gave birth to a 6-pound baby
through a C-Section at Madison Memorial Hospital Over the weekend.
"According to court documents this is where Gutierrez-Juarez lives in the
green trailer. I've been up and down talking to different neighbors and all
of their reactions have been the same.
Neighbors say they believe Gutierrez-Juarez lives in his west St. Anthony
house with several children. There is a swing set and multiple bikes in the
front yard. />
Police have not released the relationship between Gutierrez Juarez and his
victim
It's a tragedy all the neighbors say is too close for comfort.
