(NECN) - A New York City firefighter died fighting a fire early Sunday morning at a home on Staten Island.

Officials are releasing few details about the fire, but they do say the found a woman's body inside.

It appears she was stabbed to death.

Fire marshals are trying to find the cause of the fire.

No arrests have been made.

Sunday morning, Mayor Michael Bloomberg commented on the death of the New York City firefighter.
