| July 15, 2008 Body may solve disappearance of Cary woman
|
(NECN/ABC) - Three agencies: Cary, North Carolina Police, the Wake County Sheriff's Department and CCBI are investigating a murder. The place where they found a body is within a five mile radius of Nancy Cooper's home. But, Cary's police chief says so far, they have no name for the victim, or a suspected killer.
Pat Bazemore/Cary Police Chief: "The Wake County sheriff's department and the town of Cary police department are working this case together. If the person is identified as Nancy, the Cary police will take the lead on the investigation."
There is no forensic link established between the body and Cooper, who police still call a missing person.
Police say Cooper's husband is cooperating with police, letting them search two cars and giving them a purse.
Cooper was last seen before she went out for a jog on July 12th.
