(NECN: Waco, TX) - A dinner cruise paddle boat on the Brazos River in Waco, Texas won't be serving up steak dinners anytime soon after it accidentally sank on Monday.
The red, white and blue "Spirit of the Rivers" paddle boat had no passengers on board Monday when water was accidentally pumped into the vessel. Maintenance
was being performed to remove accumulated rainwater when the pump began sending water into the 70-passenger charter boat.
Owner Shane Morgan says he had turned on the pump and left for a few minutes.
When he returned, he found the boat sinking.
Morgan managed to get off the docked vessel and remove the pump just before the boat sank. He is contacting his insurance company about the accidental sinking.
