(NECN: Michelle Brown) - New Englanders are monitoring the situation in the Samoas, and are ready to mobilize if they're needed.
The largest Red Cross chapter in Massachusetts says its volunteers are trained and ready to go help the victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Samoa and American Samoa.
Scientists at the Weston observatory at Boston College say the quake will leave a lasting impact on New England.
The earthquake and tsunami has left thousand in the Samoas in need of basic necessities. The Red Cross says the best way to help is with money.
