| November 3, 2009 Push to keep Maine's gay marriage law
|
(NECN: Marnie MacLean, Portland, Maine) - Turnout across Maine so far is described as steady, but not heavy, as voters decide whether to keep or repeal the state's gay marriage law.
Voters in Maine today could become the first in the country to uphold gay marriage by a popular vote. That's if they vote down Question One.
The state legalized the law earlier this year, but opponents petitioned to get Question One on the ballot.
If it's passed, it would repeal the law.
