(NECN: Scot Yount, Nashua, NH) - A little lottery luck for a New Hampshire couple. They've hit a million-plus dollar jackpot not once, but twice since 2005.
So what makes them so lucky?
This is the story of lightning striking twice. Call it incredible ginormous luck. Bob and Diane Jaracz of Nashua, New Hampshire are what you might call lucky.
Bob was a Navy pilot, shot down over Korea, he escaped a POW camp and made it home. Pretty lucky.
He married Diane and raised three boys and now have their grandchildren. Pretty lucky
Bob is an engineer, designs electronic warfare equipment and loves his job. That's lucky too, but not as lucky as this.
"I still buy the tickets I still have the same chance that anyone else buying them."
That's because Bob is the first ever to win New Hampshire's lottery grand prize, twice Pretty darn lucky.
"I still buy tickets if say I am using their money now."
The first time was on thanksgiving 2005. The relatives wanted Bob to check his numbers after he found out the winning ticket had been purchased at his local variety store.
"And in a little while he came down and just mouthed we won… it was a nice thanksgiving."
They took the nearly two million and did all the fun things that hadn't before.
"I always wanted to travel but I married him"
Pretty lucky. They went to Alaska… and Africa… and might be going back. That because Bob has won again. Lotto officials
wanted to know if he was some kind of number cruncher or bookkeeper.
"They were both easy picks"
Which means if there is a book keeper it's the state of New Hampshire's computers.
Anyway people have begun to realize you really can be lucky. The couple's son pointed out to Diane that dad really had been worth those nearly five decades with him.
"You know mom you're going to be married 48 years you are married to dad and now it is finally paying off."
And just so you know… if you buy lottery tickets you are competing against Bob.
"Tomorrow is another day, there is another drawing tomorrow remember."
