Hot Dog Annies stocks up for the Fourth

(Colleen Bamford, NECN: Leicester, MA) - The next hot dog eating champion could come from Central Massachusetts. If it happens chances are that person would have stopped at "Hot Dog Annies" in Leicester.

A steady rain shower did not stop a steady stream of customers from enjoying the favorite treat on this July Fourth, the biggest hot dog eating day of the year. The traditional trip to the hot dog haven is a holiday staple for many in Central Massachusetts.

800 pounds of hot dogs were delivered to Annies in preparation for the holiday, but that is only a small bite compared to the national number. On average Americans gobble down 150 million hot dogs on July Fourth alone.

NECN's Colleen Bamford reports.
