June 28, 2008 Lake holds no clues in case of missing VT girl Play video

(NECN: Brookfield, Vermont) - There is still no sign of a missing 12-year-old girl from Vermont.

Police spent the day Friday searching a lake in Brookfield for Brooke Bennett.

Divers found new clues in the lake, where on Thursday, they found Bennett's sneaker.

Police have released a surveillance video from a convenience store in Randolph, Vermont Wednesday.

Bennett appears at the cash register with her uncle. Their pair then leave the store, going separate directions.

A friend saw her at a laundromat a short time later. Bennett then disappeared.

Police say Bennett may have met up with someone she communicated with on MySpace, the social networking website.
