(NECN: Hyannis, Mass.) - Five suspects have been taken into custody following Thursday's arson attack on a home in Hyannis Massachusetts. The accused are scheduled to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court Friday, on charges of arson and attempted murder. All five suspects were arrested in Malden, Massachusetts.
The group allegedly threw two burning 40 ounce bottles filled with gasoline at the house. One landed outside the house. The second landed inside a bedroom of the duplex where young children were sleeping. The 3-year-old & 6-month old were rescued. There were seven people total in the duplex at the time of the attack, and all managed to get out safely.
Dennis Edwards a tenant of the house, says the attack stems from an earlier altercation at the house. Officials say it is a miracle that all those inside, including a dog got out safely, considering how severely the building was engulfed and charred with flames.
NECN's Latoyia Edwards has the latest.
