July 9, 2008 Vermont town says goodbye to Brooke Bennett Play video

(Anya Huneke, NECN: Randolph, VT) - Nearly 1,000 people turned out in Randolph, Vermont to say goodbye to 12-year-old Brooke Bennett.

Funeral services were held behind Randolph high school where Bennett had just completed seventh grade. She disappeared last month and was later found dead. Her uncle, Michael Jacques, has been charged with her kidnapping.

The Pastor told the girl's grieving family that they gathered as a community to say "never again".

Authorities believe Bennett was being recruited into sex ring at the time of her disappearance. Authorities have still not said how she died.
