August 22, 2008 Volunteer gives soldiers a taste of home overseas Play video

(Danica Pecirep, NECN: Southboro, MA) - She doesn't know these soldiers and she has no family in the military- but for the last three years
Lisa Braccio of Southboro has made it her mission to send supplies to those serving overseas.

We wanted for one minute of one day when they open that box to bring them home - they can see the touches and tastes of home and that was our goal - to put a smile on their face for that one minute.

It all began when she got an email with a link to the website anysoldier.com which connects citizens with soldiers in need of support.

Six drives later she says the total number of boxes has jumped to more than thirty three hundred.
Volunteers from the community and many donations enable her to keep the effort going strong.
