New Englanders are speaking out after efforts to pass tougher gun control laws failed in a deeply divided U.S. Senate on Monday.
Many took to Twitter to share their frustrations and some even called to remove the senators responsible for blocking the measures.
Others commented on the necn Facebook page calling the failure to pass the measures "spinelss", "shameful", and "sick."
The Senate rejected all four measures that were up for a vote in the wake of the worst mass shooting in modern American history, where a lone gunman killed 49 people and injured 53 others in an Orlando gay nightclub.
The defeated measures included blocking people on a terror watch list from purchasing guns, closing the gun show loophole and expanding background checks.
