A New Hampshire man charged with killing his father in Chesterfield has pleaded not guilty.

Twenty-three-year-old Peter Giandalone of Chesterfield was arraigned Wednesday in Keene on charges of second-degree murder and theft by unauthorized taking. He remains held without bail.

His father, 64-year-old John Giandalone, was found dead at his home July 12, and the attorney general's office says he died of a deep neck wound.

Peter Giandalone was detained in South Carolina on Sunday in connection with an arrest warrant for theft. Authorities also issued an arrest warrant Tuesday alleging he committed second-degree murder.

Prosecutors say an agreement was reached that the defense counsel could have access to the affidavit with a protective order to share the information with their client but not with the public.
