Suspects Lead Police on Wrong-Way Turnpike Chase in Front-Loader

    Police in Lewiston, Maine, say they have arrested suspects accused of stealing a front-loader and leading police on a wrong-way chase on the Maine Turnpike Monday morning. 

    According to necn affiliate WCSH, the suspects led officers on a chase on the southbound side, crossed to the northbound side and struck another vehicle. 

    Police have arrested the suspects inside, but no names have been released. 

    Delays are expected near the New Gloucester Toll Plaza.

    A suspect in an Arizona bank robbery and pursuit died after an exchange of gunfire with police officers Tuesday afternoon. The deceased suspect has been identified as Steven Del Rio, 31, who had previously spent time in prison for armed robbery, aggravated assault and endangerment, according to Arizona Department of Corrections records. Del Rio was most recently released from prison in May. According to police, someone in the suspect car shot at an Avondale officer when he tried to stop the SUV. Phoenix police then took over the chase. (Published Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016)
