(NECN/WFTV/WKMG/Central Florida) - Fire officials in Florida are optimistic that they can regain control of fierce wildfires raging in the central part of the state. A busy part of Interstate 95, threatened by flames, has been reopened.
Some 10,000 acres have burned in two counties. At least one home was destroyed and entire neighborhoods remain in jeopardy.
Firefighters are hopeful more favorable weather conditions are in store.
At this point, the cause of the wildfire remains under investigation.
